week 5 - 9

these week we learning how to model a shark. The point of this is to know how to model a organic object and learning us UVs.

sadly I didn't finish my work yet, this is all I have:


1. this is what we done on class, a basic shark model

2 turn it into a 'living thing' by using the button ahead named 'make the selected object live', actually it just turn it become a big magnet.

3.create an polygon plane, make it stike on the shark.
4,drag and extrude....
 5,that's what I have by now




week 2 - 4

these week we learn how to build a torn bike. the point of these course is modeling non organic objects, using loft and other more complicate order in Maya.

How to build a torn bike:

1.open the three side view file which Lewis gave us in Maya.


2.create a pipe  as wheel and drag several edges of it to make a outsider curved and inside flat wheel.

3, create a line around the bike by use CV curve tool

4.once finish last step, shift+ D drag a copy of it, and go surface - surface - loft to loft a surface between 2 lines.

5. Modify - convert - NURBS to polygon - check the options, make sure use quads and control points . Now the surface turn to be a good polygon.
 6.polygon - edit mesh - merge vertex or merge edges.this step will make this surface close and looks more like a real bike.
 7.delete several and use extrude to build the hole for wheel and the ...the horn like thing?
 8,give it texture as the table put it into an environment, and va la!


week 1

week 1

the table work:

1.create a polygon cube

2, use 4 kind view (press space ) and move( w ) rotate( e ) and translate( r ) to make it an flat table-like object.
 3.polygon - edit mesh - insert edge loop.add more loop to the table, use w e r to translate the loop so the table will look more like a table but not an cube polygon.
 4.smooth(  press 3 ) the table ,more edge loop will also make sure the table on the right pose
 5.create a new cube as leg
 6,put it on right place and select the bottom face
 7.edit mesh - extrude will extrude the face to create a new face with new edge.
 8,once finished the leg, select it , press shift+d to copy the leg and put them in right place as well
 9, window - rendering editor - hypershade - Maya - Lambert - click the ball and click the box next to color - file - file name chose a red wood texture done

Starting translate my blog

 In case of people may confuse, I gonna present myself again. My name is YAorong YANG, or you can call me Amy, I an an international student in the UH learning Computer Game Art. I wish to become a great game designer to help my dad set up his own computer game company.
